Methinks some of you might be interested in this. It's under the San Diego Comic-Con section. Udon Entertainment ArtbooksHowever, I bought the Legend of Heroes Artbook and was amusingly horriified at how badly they butchered titles, descriptions - well I got the character Artbook, LOL. Figures. I'm sure with these books, it'll be much better, hopefully ^^.

I just want to elaborate on my previous comment.
I haven't bought enough of Udon's translated artbooks to comment on their consistency, etc.
Coming from my experience, my assumption is that games that have a well established or recognizable English speaking fanbase and have a history of localization here will have much more accurate information than ones that are not.
As a fan of a game series that isn't relatively known nor popular to the English fanbase, I was excited to hear that Udon would be translating the artbook.
However, once I got the book, I could tell that the company did check with the series's original company, the localization company nor the veteran fanbase (by that, I mean the people who have a comprehensive grasp of the terminology, geography, history and plot of the games to discuss them in-depth) to make sure the names and terms used by the series matched the ones they were using. So some of the names were spelled incorrectly, some of the terms were confusing or non-existent, and some of the descriptions were...very off.
What I'm not saying is the company will not do a good job. Since there are way more resources the company can use, they don't need to make up terms or descriptions on the spot =p
Generally, it seems that they may be going for the most recent game that has been released of a particular series, so in a way, it's more accessible to the public.
If you guys are curious as to how botched up the Legend of Heroes (Trails series) character book is, I'll post some pictures later XD

So...how bad was it? Um...so... "In Search of a loving partner to share in the journey of life." First of all, it sounds too much like a personal ad. Second of all, its completely OOC for this main character to do that. Too focused on one person, you know. XD This is me getting used to the forums...so if things work out, I'll post the others =p {Spoiler} Estelle Bright The original reads something like "searching for the one she loves" and that is intended to imply the main male character of the Trails in the Sky trilogy.

Is that an actual translation, though? Or did the original book have this too - in English? English texts in Japanese books aren't known for their consistency.

I own the English book by Udon Entertainment, so the translation isn't mines LOL. I don't own the original Japanese artbook, but there are others who are much more knowledgeable than I am who can vouch for Falcom's intended descriptions. Some of the descriptions are plain grammatical errors to be honest, while others include name changes that stray from official works and canonical resources. Others are just inexplicable. XD Like these: {Zane Vatheks famous move is?} Zane Vathek"Clam dip flow"...really? If this link shows, you can probably see my pencil marks all over this one. Note:[The Immovable] is Zane's bracer title, both used by Falcom and Xseed. {Huh?} Alan Richard Espionage agency? My PSP copy of Trails in the Sky reads: Intelligence Division. Richard is a colonel. Why would he work in an agency? {I can't believe this...} Special Support Section is NOT a Factory Since when did Lloyd Bannings work in the factory? His character profile shows him wearing a shirt that says "Crossbell Police Department" LOL.
So...my Shockwave crashed on me. I'll post the rest later

That's really bad. So bad that it's a hilarious sight.
I'm guessing they just ran the text through translators (probably worse than Google Translate) on things they don't understand. This includes most proper names, thus the weird result.
"Flow" is probably 流 (りゅう), or (inherited or taught) style of fighting or art. No idea what that hell spinach is about.
