Usually this thread goes around, catching up on how everyone is doing.
I moved out again! To the other side of the block, funny that. I also recovered from an awful cold my flatmate kindly spread all over the place with his monstrous coughing ^__^
Hope you guys are not swamped into the real world too much!

Ah, right. We need a general chitchat thread like this.
Right now I'm overcome with joy because this forum isn't completely dead.
Well, for a more serious answer: The biggest news going on around me is that I'm moving again, now that I've graduated. I'll return to Hong Kong because it's hard looking for a job and a visa conversion under a student visa. Grrr. I'll see if I can come back in the future, because despite all the perceived inconvenience of living in England, it's still better than being in a hot, damp, polluted city with no debit cards or bus station info displays.
I've also picked up Riviera: The Promised Land lately (again). I intend to play the game blind (no walkthroughs), because it seems to me that not knowing what's in the game is part of the fun. Don't know when will I finish it, though.

Debbie: Woah~ Congratulations on moving. Are you living by yourself or with a roommate?
NY: Cool~ I'd love to know what you think since the story is more accessible to you than it is to me. I might try it out too, and I'm hoping the Japanese is easy enough for me to get a gist of what's going on.
And I might be going on a rant so feel free to skip some parts if you like XD
Speaking about colds, tons of people here don't tend to cover their mouths when they cough. It also snowed two times here in Changwon, and here I was thinking I could escape cold weather...well how wrong I was XD Oh...and my internet at home is dead...again. Bah...
The Korean students here keep me busy - whoever told me that Korean kids are well-behaved has not stepped into a public elementary school with rowdy kids that don't understand a word of English or kids who pretend they don't understand. Anyway, the end result is the same. =p
On a more positive note, at least I have to learn how to cook properly. As an Asian with an acute sensitivity to spice (and here they load it on) I've been trying to cook different dishes with the same hardy ingredients: carrots and potatoes, with the odd zucchini and mushrooms. Maybe some meat, but it can be expensive cooking meat for dinner. There are some days were the only think I can eat is probably rice and one other thing if I'm lucky. Their soups can also be deceivingly clear and mild when they are not. Plus, I miss Chinese food...I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually miss dim sum, LOL.
I'm excited because I'll be heading over to HK on Sunday December 28 for 10 days (well 9, actually. Since I'm cheap I'm leaving at night and getting there in the morning).

I've just cleared Chapter 2. I'll talk about it later.
I'm rather surprised about the whole snow thing. I've been to the UK for two winters, and I hoped to see snow -- but alas, that didn't happen, at least not in England. I'm currently travelling to Germany (and I'll return to Hong Kong after this trip), and I was hit with solid ice more times than I ever did in England. There goes one of my reasons to go there -- but oh well. My other England-related wishes came true (got a degree with a better result than I thought, learnt how to live, went for a few trips, and my dark, ice-cold self love the northern winter), so missing a few others isn't that bad.
Which parts of HK do you plan to go to? And to be honest, I'm actually interested in seeing you in person. If you don't mind, that is.

It's rather cold here where I'm staying, and the buildings here look rather dreary around my area (or perhaps they are mostly grey in colour or the skies here are frequently cloudy?) I'm not really planning to go to any specific part of HK apart from where my relatives live. I don't mind meeting you in person either, but I'll have to get back on you as to which area my relatives live. I'm 50% sure at some point I will go to Mongkok again. If we do get a chance to meet up, I would prefer meeting somewhere that is assessible by subway? XD I get lost easily, LOL.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas by the way!! Debbie: Woah~ Congratulations on moving. Are you living by yourself or with a roommate?
With the same three people. They told me they'll like to move again to a better place in 5 months. To be honest, I have had trouble the the washing machine the agency had provided and the bathroom window cannot be opened at all, urgh. Still not cold enough to snow yet down here. But if it does, the entire London transport breaks down with 2 inches of snow, lol. It would be so cool if you guys meet up. Take photos please =D

Just dropping in to say that it snowed right after I moved out of the UK. I am rather disappointed, but at the same time, since I wish to move back in anyway, I can wait.

I'm not that photogenic (nor do I like taking photos of myself, lol) but it turned out to be not so bad =p. I demonstrated my not-so-admirable FE gaming skills and Nox helped me buy moar games I can't play in Korea XD Speaking of washing machine problems...I still don't want to adjust mines...everything is in a language I can't read, gulp. I did finally figure out how to get access to hot water... And Changwon's weather is hovering between positive and negative (in Celcius degrees =p) As for cooking, I can't believe I managed to ruin - yup, mac n'cheese. I think the gas stove was too hot for the cheese sauce parts of it got overcooked, LOL. I hope you guys are doing well.

I really liked the experience. For one, it's hard to otherwise find people to talk about games in general. The closest ones I could find were fellow gamers who play RPGs and adventure games, but not the ones that I'm interested in (almost there; there's this guy who plays Ace Attorney and Etrian Odyssey).
We talked a lot about our common interests, as well as one-sided ones (games that only either of us plays). And I found out that she has proficiency over multiple languages (though I think Vikki may have a closer match with my own language profile). We should practice-chat more in Japanese or French sometimes.
I guess this (among other things) justifies my returning to HK. I'm actually a bit disappointed on how I couldn't find immagration agents back in the UK, but somehow ended up finding UK-based immigration agents after I returned. Too bad, since I like there better than HK. I guess I can try again in the future, but I also think it'll sabotage my career quite a bit if I do so. And I got suggestions like how I should get jobs from international companies and get chances to move from there, but I don't think that's really a viable path.

tbh, I was a bit worried and my relative was too =p I do agree that it's hard to find specific people who share the same interest in the same games though. My Japanese is rather low-level for decent chats though, haha, though I can stand to regain some of my conversational skills in French.
I also wish you the best in your next stage of life, Nox. I'm working on that myself, though I really haven't assessed how I've been doing professionally. One of my weaker points is learning how to write good cover letters and such. It's definitely something I need to learn somehow.

Oh...kay. Let me show up here for a bit. I got a job two weeks ago. That's some pretty challenging cross-technology stuff there. Don't know if I'm getting the hang of it. My Flash-related work reminds me of my own stuff, so maybe I'll go back to it, especially since the more recent updates to the program were pretty awesome. And lately I was all about playing Puyopuyo Tetris. And I'm still waiting for something else to play on my 3DS (best if it lasts long enough before FE14 comes out). IS will hold a concert in July. I can't help but wonder if that's also going to be FE14's Japanese release date, as with the case of Smash 3DS and the Smash concert. www.fe25thevent.com/

Do you mind me asking how long is it? I feel the same with my job. I really don't know if I'm getting the hang of it since my co-workers usually don't update me on how I'm doing. I have some new kids and new teachers, so it'll take a while to coordinate with them. LOL at the 3DS comment. Does the game have to be compatible with the 3D option? I know only two games: Story of Seasons (U.S localized title) and Persona Q. Maybe neither of them is suited to your tastes, but I thought I'd pitch in =p Puyopuyo Tetris sounds wonderful...actually Tetris sounds wonderful~ I've been...playing Wonderball on my phone since I barely have time to finish Trails in the Sky/Valkyria Chronicles. In the case of the latter being that I'm stuck on a map and I'm not fond of saving in battles which are quite lengthy (1 hour or so. Lag makes it worse.) And playing a jazzed up version of pinball where you have to pay for goodies is starting to get to me @_@

My job is a semi-permanent one, with a one-year contract period that's renewable. I don't plan to leave it in the forseeablefuture, either. It's still way too early for me to say anything, though.
I actually have my eyes on what's localized as Yumi's Odd Odyssey. It's a little odd platformer, and something about that game makes me want to try it.

So...it's been a while since I dropped by. How has everyone been doing?
These days I've been feeling quite sick and had s number of trips to the doctor to find out was wrong with me. So far, they have been throwing their hands in the air. I got MRIs, CT, and X-rays done so I hope they can find out the reason soon.

Others are kind of semi-active in deviantART. According to Vikki, Elchi just plain forgot this site's address.
I've been chasing after various tech news as usual, with my most recent targets being Windows 10 (probably won't update even though it's free) and the Vivaldi browser (sounds promising). Of course, there's also the usual E3 specilation, Fire Emblem if news and more.

I also read some response articles and KH speculations (probably...not a good idea in retrospect.) Meh, I'm happy with Trails CS, FE If, and other little things here and there so it's cool. When I just got back translating bits for my project again before I had to call it quits temporarily (I finally manage to finish the profile of THE one mustachioed jerk {Spoiler}http://starlightmeteor.deviantart.com/art/Gungnir-Robertus-Stats-418845339?q=gallery%3Astarlightmeteor%2F2341910&qo=15 ...and I need four more to go...) I had to go for surgery for my neck. Since that means I'm in recovery mode won't be able to stay in Korea. The good news is I'm moving back home in two weeks. Yay! I'm super excited. Shame though. Shipping from Japan to here is much easier and the wait is reduce to a week instead of months XD

Ah, nice to hear about your returning home. Seeing that screenshot reminds me of all those personal projects I've been doing. I don't think I'll revisit them anytime soon, though. At the current pace, I expect Fire Emblem if to last at least 3 months for me, after which I'll be occupied with Mario Maker. So no time for other stuff. Speaking of "other stuff", here was a tiny little project of mine: Smash battles with substituted music. Nothing noteworthy, but I'll say the same thing again: I wish Smash can be even more flexible with its music than it already is. In terms of new games, E3 felt plain to me. Microsoft has got Rare Replay (and I forgot the rest), and fortunately for players, they didn't simply turn it into pure Windows 10 / DirectX 12 advertising. Sony's arguably the "winner", with quite a few big hits (and finally an actual FF7 remake). Nintendo is... meh. It did get me more interested in Mario Maker, so I guess it counts for something.

It's been a while since I posted here. I've been looking for part-time work while I wait for a doctor to see me and that'll probably take a while. Other than that, I have been going through some physiotherapy sessions and whatnot. Some of your projects are pretty neat and it's cool that you have that know-how to do those things. Been somewhat pre-occupied by Trails of Cold Steel (Japanese version) to to the point that I've been having some crazy (read: nonsensical or not cool) crossover ideas that I could never pull off. Brainstorming flashy attacks in your mind without making them lame is harder than it seems. How's life?

All kinds of stuff happen, though nothing too remarkable. I work as usual, help some gaming site to translate stuff, and that's it, really. Right now, I just want to build up my work profile, but it isn't something that can be sped through. Well, some say it's possible, but I lack the motivation and/or ideas to work beyond what I have to.

I just wanted to pop in for a quick update. I've now have two part-time jobs, one during evening hours and one on the weekend. Otherwise, I alternate between gaming, babysitting my nephew, and visiting friends.
How was Halloween weekend for you guys btw? I snuck in things like granola bars and gave away some of my novels to the kids LOL. (My bookcases need a major overhaul.=p)

Halloween was.... plain forgotten. The area I live in doesn't have many kids.
Interesting that how you work during what's typically non-work time. At least this means you don't have to worry about having no access to things like banks and postal service (if you do use them) because they operate during the same hours as most offices. How convenient.
I have... no major news. It's not like I'm spending much of my free time on anything other than Fire Emblem if.
I'm getting tired easily these days, possibly because of all those family activities. I happen to still have quite a few unusued days off for my work (that can't be converted to extra cash), so I'll probably reduce my work week to four days for the last few weeks of my contract period.

I went to a crappy Halloween clubnight.
I have health news; I've been experiencing acute pains around my heart area, it felt like angina. I did see a doctor about it and she mentioned that I been eating too much spicy and oily foods. I also decided to cut down on drinking alcoholic beverages.
I'll be fine as long as I don't eat excessively on KFC ;D
