This is more of a self-reminder than anything. In the future, I'll need to find some way to notice the old members of this place's (bare) existence. Probably through email.
Spoke to Vikki a while ago, and I learned from her that Elchi just outright forgot this site's address. I don't know where's everyone else, though.

That's good to hear!~ As long as you have their contacts, there's always a chance they'll be back. Most likely they are busy atm.

Cam, Liz and Felix are around on facebook. Felix is in his final year at uni, so yep!
I'm busy...with life. Love it. But I really wish there is more hours I can be awake/not work for.

That's cool to hear. I don't use Facebook; I do technically have an account, but I haven't touched it for years. I find the site itself uninteresting, but at the same time it also means I have less of a chance to talk to people.

It will get busy with school around again but I'll see if I can pop on the weekends.

Just saw the e-mail sent by NYL so.... I'm sorry guys for disappearing on you all this time... I even forgot about this forum because I'm totally absorbed with my exams, and as Deb said, its my last year (well, I'm almost done ^^). Once I get my bachelor in februrary I'll be really back, my hard times are almost gone since I have only 2 exams left by now: on January 2015 I had 12, I was so behind, so you can imagine... I'm quite devastated and I don't have a proper life since then, especially because I decided as my new year resolution to pass ALL OF THEM by December. And unbelievably I'm almost there, I still don't know how I made it all this way: studying Medicine is hard and it's driving me nuts, but it's also my fault for doing it on my pace in the starting years (the times when we got to know each other thanks to DA, the old good times when we were all so productive....). I got lazy by keeping drawing and this is the result ^^"
Well, besides ranting, I'm glad we got to keep in touch again, if it wasn't for your intervention NYL...XD Surely, as we'll get our hands on FE IF I'll be commenting profoundly about it here, what I liked and disliked, my fandoms and such. Hopefully we can talk like the old times thanks to it ^^

Well I guess I can give this old good place a little chance. I actually never lost the URL of this forum. I actually just lost interest in the fandom in general, and lost interest into online socializing in general. I've been trying to avoid using computers for a while since college and the job as well as abandoning gaming too, and that pretty much means abandoning forums, my deviantArt (which I haven't logged in for a whole year) and even my Tumblr I couldn't get used to. Because of that I haven't been drawing much either, and I'm being rusted now. Though right now I'm finding a little hobby of writing fics these days, haha. Even the new Fire Emblem game doesn't interest me at all honestly, seeing it's going toward the Awakening path which I'm not fan at all, and I'm betting the series will keep that path. I will probably get the game anyway, to see if it can somehow spark a little of the old fandom back to me, but we'll see. I know this forum shouldn't solely be about drawing and gaming, but these days being in front of the computer is such a chore to me it makes me avoiding this site. And for that, I'm sorry. I will try to come from times to times, but that's all.

What a relief to see everyone back here! Busy or not, hearing from you guys feels good. Felix, I'm speechless. I know final year studies can be tough, but this is still surprising to me. I've seen people in other professions like accounting being busy too, but 12 exams in a year!? I wish you good luck dealing with all this. But it sounds like you've handled it well thus far. Congrats on the ones you did finish! Elchi, well... it's completely normal to lose interest in something. Anyway, I'm just glad to hear from you, though to be perfectly honest I'd like to hear some "hey, I still haven't forgotten about you" message once in a while. FE14 not interesting you is something I've completely anticipated. The same goes for most people I know in dA; those people -- and not just you -- seem to come to the conclusion that FE6~10 (or any variation thereof) remain the best entries. In a way, I'm actually glad; this series is varied enough to have people split into roughly three factions (FE1-5 fans, FE6-10 fans, FE13-14 fans). Personally, I like most of them. Except maybe FE6's enemy turn reinforcements, FE10's utter lack of game balance, FE11's awful recruitment criteria, FE14's horrible story... well, you get what I mean. I'm pretty much the opposite to you, Elchi. I did get less time thanks to my job, but I'm still very much active in my usual hobbies outside of work. Actually, work itself may also be a hobby to a progammer who likes puzzle games anyway. To summarize my side of life, I'm busy...with life. Love it. But I really wish there is more hours I can be awake/not work for. (Except that I'm not in a relationship or otherwise live like Dubbie.)

Ah, a lot of professors in my school have a terrible habitat of calling any test an exam or midterm. I think one engineering class ended up having five "midterms" and that's one class for one semester. Midterm is such an abused word. >.> Speaking of which, I have like seven assignments and five 'midterms' in October. Busy month.

To be honest, I'm just glad to hear back from you all. On my end, I focused my efforts in the gaming and drawing section on this forum and it wasn't helping the situation.
Felix, I can't imagine how difficult it must be to pursue a career in the medical field with so much pressure. 12 exams in just one month?! Absolutely mind-blowing. Yet you're almost there, so congratulations on getting thus far.
Dioji, October sounds pretty stressful. @_@ (Pardon me, but I've forgotten which program you're in.)
Elchi, I'm happy to hear from you as well. Whether or not FE14 may re-kindle your interest for the very reasons you've mentioned, I appreciate that you took some time to post here. (How's the exercise going, may I ask?)
After coming back home three months earlier than I expected, I'm now looking for work again and re-commiting myself to get back into shape. I booked an appointment with a specialist to see my condition, so in the meantime there is a lot of catching up to do.

Dioji, October sounds pretty stressful. @_@ (Pardon me, but I've forgotten which program you're in.) I'm not sure I ever said to be honest, but I'm in third year of biology. Sometime next week, I'll get training on a specific computer software so I can volunteer in an ornithology lab. The professor uses audio recordings to study migration and bird behaviour and there's not enough people to shift through all of the recordings.

Guess that adulthood is taking over us, since once we were much fonder of everything and now we are (as it should be) facing real life issues. Most of us are about their 25 if not 30. It's impossible to come back to the old days. I myself tried to give a chance to the FE:ES project since it was too awesome to die like this. So I got in touch with Camille for a while, as she was in for it too and she provided some storytelling to begin with. But now that I'm hasting to end my University life and aiming to get my bachelor within this winter I can't think of anything else so I still don't know what destiny will have our project. And Elchi, your post in SJ was utterly clear, you just stated that if we have come to a dead-end like this it's because there was no organization and willpower to go on: really, we could have finished it if we all respected the deadline of one week per page. And I would have been so proud of the project because such a huge collaboration is rare and would have led to a magnificent comic, even worthy to be printed and kept on my desk (yeah, that was my stupid dream). But the enthusiasm was not the same for everyone and we heard too many excuses for laziness/real life stuff that we actually got tired of it, at least the few people who actually put every effort into it like Elchi, Debbie and me. Eternal Souls was the last home for us artists which kept us together: with its death, our "trait d'union" died as well and what it's left is this forum which has become deserted as well (except for the two people who still come back here and still have hope for our community it seems).
So, I won't say anything more about SJ. It hurts for me more than anyone leaving it like that as my OCs would have finally got their spotlight in the upcoming chapter... after contributing so much for its development in general. Oh well. As probably stated before, I won't leave this place even though most of us lost interest in the fandom so I understand there wouldn't be any strong reason to come back here like the old times. But well, as far as some old pal is still here it's okay to come back here at times. When I'll have the possibility to return to my gaming life I will report some of my experience and impressions here as always, and hopefully the next FE will give me the reason to do so.
@debbie: I probably remember his surname was Sanchez but I don't have him as a FB friend unfortunately... Maybe Elchi has an idea?

I just happened to be going through all my old bookmarked links and decided to drop in and see if anything had been going on, and I'm glad I did as it seems there's still a little life on this forum I completely understand what Elchi said about not wanting to spend hours at the computer in her free time, it's been the same for me ever since I started working in design as I spend all day at work at my computer, so the idea of sitting around on it when I get home as well is not appealing at all haha. I feel bad that I've lost touch with most of you, as the first version of the forum and the msn conversations we used to have were something I used to look forward to and enjoy immensely, but I guess it's unavoidable that it becomes difficult for everyone to constantly stay connected when we've all gotten older and have obligations and whatnot to see to. Would it be worth finding an alternative place that actually involves notifications so we can all continue to talk? I know you said you're not really a fan of Facebook NYL, I'm much the same, but a group conversation on Facebook messenger would be a really simple and easy solution as we would all at least be notified when someone else has said something etc. Not sure how much the idea appeals to everyone, but it's a suggestion. I'm glad things seem to be going well for everybody in that you've all been busy and productive, hopefully it continues to be that way. It's also a shame about the comic, but I honestly think it had no chance at all once most of us got to the end of our studies or started working full time, as those sorts of things often fall to the wayside. At least we still have the little that was put together to look back on when we feel like it? Anyhow, I'll try and check back here every so often, but let me know what you all think of the fb group message idea and we can set it up if you're all keen. That or a Skype group message thread.

Great to hear from you! I thought we'd lose you forever.
I am for the idea of a Skype group myself, as I'm using i for other communications anyway. With Facebook, I'm a bit cautious. I do have an account that some old friends of mine pursuaded me to start, but it has since be dead for years, and I'm still against the idea of a general friend management tool that doesn't put borders between communities (i.e. I don't care about my friends' other friends). That said, I'm for it (reluctantly) if it's the only tool others have.
That said, my experience is that even messenging groups tend to die down after a while, and that's the case even for tools that everyone uses. Here in Hong Kong, most people use WhatsApp Messenger, and that doesn't stop some of my older friend groups from going completely silent. I think convenience aside, it's harder for people with full-time work to keep being socially active, because they'd rather spend their free time on things that are more passive, like reading on their own or watching TV.
Personally, I have a different issue with a similar outcome: I do have tons of free time to spend even after getting work, but I tend to keep to myself. But that issue is usually with physically meeting friends; I don't have this issue with online contacts.
Anyway, I'm all for setting up online chatrooms. I prefer Skype myself, since I use it for other discussions and I'm not likely to miss messages there.

I JUST PASSED THE PENULTIMATE EXAM!!! Oh my Lord Eliwood, I'm so happy... after two months of suffering! Now the last one in December and I'm done: I'm so looking forward to ending all of this. Happy to hear from you Lizz! I'm totally in for the group convo, but I barely use the computer so we need to establish date&time of our reunion. I'm on FB but if we choose to use Skype it's perfectly okay with me, I just need to install it. Let's see who's in for this

Meanwhile I'm sharing with you guys this.... I translated this comic years ago and I still find it quite funny... haha XD [probably what Lyn really says in the 3rd panel is "Will I be attacked?", makes more sense since she's alone there and Florina got berserk]
